About the Presenter
Bethany Taylor
Bethany Taylor is the Assistant Director of External Partnerships with Stateside Military Operations at the University of Maryland Global Campus.
Over her 10 years with UMGC she has held various roles to include both outreach with their stateside Military Education Counselors as well as a point of contact for assisting with the various military portals and programs connected with the school. She has worked in military higher education for over 15 years, beginning her journey as a Test Examiner and eArmyU Counselor at Ft. Drum, NY. In 2003 she traveled to Bosnia and Herzegovina as an Education Counselor and worked as a Program Mentor with IBM during the initial launch of the GoArmyEd portal.
She holds a B.A. in Psychology and a M.Ed. in School Counseling. Outside of work she the mother of twin girls who continue to keep her busy living their best lives.
Kelly Wilmeth
Ms. Kelly Wilmeth serves as the vice president of the University of Maryland Global Campus’(UMGC) Stateside Military Operations. In this role, she is responsible for UMGC’s staff and operations on military installations across the country and for overseeing UMGC’s outreach to and growth among the military and veteran student population across the United States. Ms. Wilmeth began her career with UMGC in 2009 while stationed in Korea with her husband, who is an active-duty Army officer. Ms. Wilmeth is a military spouse who has lived all over the world in the past 25 years. She has worked for several colleges and universities that currently or once provided educational services to the U.S. military and their families, to include City Colleges of Chicago – Programs for the Military Europe, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University – Worldwide, and the University of Oklahoma.
Ms. Wilmeth holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Stanford University and a master’s degree in Secondary Education from the University of New Mexico. As a military spouse, she has experienced first-hand the many challenges that the military lifestyle presents as it relates to education and employment. She is honored that her career in higher education provides her the opportunity to assist service members, veterans and military spouses to achieve their academic goals and career aspirations.
In addition to her role at UMGC, Ms. Wilmeth is the Immediate Past President of the National Association of Institutions for Military Education Services (NAIMES), having served on the NAIMES Board of Directors since 2014.
